Dunshaughlin Fire Station Open Day on Sunday

Meath County Fire and Rescue Service will mark National Fire Safety Week, starting on Sunday, with an open day at Dunshaughlin Fire Station from 12 to 3pm. Everyone is welcome to go along and see the engines and maybe even see the firefighters in action. National fire Safety Week runs from this Monday until Monday 8th October and Meath Fire and Rescue Service will be advising the public on how to prevent fires and accidents and how to remain safe in your own home. The Meath fire brigade attends approximately 1200 incidents per year. Of these, approximately 20per cent (around 240 calls) are to domestic dwellings, 20per cent road traffic accidents and motor vehicle fires. The balance is comprised of other fires- for example bog/ forest fires, factory fires, industrial fires; river and other rescues; flooding and other special services.
