Barry brilliant at Bellewstown

Meath jockey Barry Geraghty completed a double at Bellewstown this evening with Ratoath handler Robert Hennessy providing the ammunition for the first leg of the double. Geraghty won on Rawnaq which is owned by Kilmessan man Kevin John Smith. Rawnaq was running for the third time in August after finishing second at Kilbeggan and also at Galway this month. Hennessy and Geraghty won the same race last year with Magnetic Force. Geraghty completed the double with a brilliant ride on the Tom Taaffe-trained Uponthe Hoof which was trying three miles for the first time. It was an untidy finish to the race, but following a stweards enquiry no alterations were made to the finishing order. Steve Mahon also got back to the winners enclosure for the first time since he resumed training when he won the conclduing race with Aranhill Chief.
