Ann Casey talks to Navan TV actor Gerry Shanahan about his latest project, which involves shooting a short film in Meath.

Just The Job: local towns to feature in new movie

Navan actor and writer, Gerry Shanahan, who is just home from Trieste in Italy where he was shooting 'The Best Offer' with Hollywood actor Donald Sutherland, is currently preparing to act and direct in his own short movie, 'The Job', which will be filmed in Meath. The short film is loosely based on a scene from a feature film called 'Relative Strangers', also written by Shanahan. Shooting will begin in Trim, Navan and Slane in September and the movie is described as an action thriller about a robbery that goes badly wrong. 'The Job' is very much a local Meath production, being written, directed and produced by Shanahan who also plays the role of Jack. His co-producer is also a Meath man, Emmet O'Dea, and there are plans to premiere it in a local cinema. To read the full story see this week's Meath Chronicle.
