Sky's the limit for Drumbaragh company

It is the dream of every Meath footballer to play for their club or county in Croke Park but eight year old Kells boy and Round Towers footballer, Eoin Meegan, recently got an even better prize - a trip to the top of Croke Park's premier Etihad Skyline Walkway. His father Kieran Meegan's company, Skyway, installed the safety system on the walkway and is delighted to have a constant Meath presence overlooking the pitch and the Dublin skyline. "This is a great project for our company to be involved in. Skyway have been in business now for over 12 years but this job has to be the Sam Maguire in our industry," Kieran says. "It's a dream job for any GAA fan!" Skyway employs over 20 staff producing safety at height equipment. They provide innovative solutions, systems and equipment to allow people to work safely at heights and prevent them falling from a height, including guardrail systems, cable systems and a roof mounted cradle system or abseiling systems which allow workers safe access to the outside of the building to clean windows or carry out maintenance work Some of their recently completed projects include the Aviva Stadium in Lansdowne Road, the new Criminal Courts of Justice, the National Conference Centre and Terminal Two at Dublin Airport. Other clients include Carillion, Wyse Property Management, University College Cork, St Vincent's Private Hospital, UCD and Trinity College. Ireland's most iconic venue, Croke Park Stadium opened the much anticipated Etihad Skyline tour on the roof of the historic ground in June. Sponsored by Etihad Airways, the tour offers access to a unique Croke Park rooftop walkway and spectacular panoramic views of Dublin city. This exciting new attraction gives visitors a view of Ireland's capital city from 44 metres or 17 storeys above the ground and is set to become a 'must see' for visitors to Dublin and those living in the city. Accompanied by an experienced tour guide, groups will ascend to the Etihad Skyline walkway following a full briefing in the stadium dressing room. The tour includes stops at five viewing platforms along the 0.6km walkway. Each platform features interpretative panels and visitors will have an opportunity to learn about famous landmarks and sites in their line of vision through multi-lingual audio guides. The audio guides include historical information, quirky anecdotes and interviews with key figures working at some of Dublin's most famous locations. Among the more notable landmarks which can be viewed from the Etihad Skyline are Glasnevin Cemetery, Guinness Brewery, the Dublin Mountains, Dun Laoghaire Harbour, Poolbeg Lighthouse, Trinity College, The Spire and GPO, St Patrick's and Christchurch Cathedrals and the Phoenix Park. The more adventurous visitors will have the chance to make their Etihad Skyline experience even more memorable by walking out from the stadium roof onto a specially designed walkway suspended above the Croke Park pitch. Not for the faint-hearted, this view of Croke Park shows Ireland's most famous arena from a completely different and breath-taking angles.
