All flowing for Shannon for 'A Million Miles'
Up-and-coming Navan singer songwriter Shannon is appearing on Brendan O'Connor's Saturday Night Show on RTE this weekend, and will also be performing at E2 Music in Navan. Shannon O'Connor was born on 12th March 1991. Her christening was held at Slane Castle, the same venue where she would shoot the video for her debut single 'A Million Miles'. Shannon grew up surrounded by a musical family. Her parents encouraged her from an early age to take up the piano and the fiddle, two instruments that she quickly mastered. Shannon's fondest childhood musical memories all involve singing. Whether it was belting out Petula Clarke's 'Downtown' or singing along to one of Nancy Sinatra's finest: this made Shannon happy and is probably what has help to cultivate her rich soulful voice. She has never been afraid of the stage, always wanting to participate in any school play and often landing the leading roles. Shannon was also a major part of the Loreto school choir who travelled internationally and won a number of awards. Shannon's music and songwriting career is going from strength to strength. With her debut single 'Million Miles' gaining a mass of You Tube and Muzu Tv hits, 17,500 in one month, it is clear she is beginning to cut her name into the national and international music scene. Her debut gig in Whelan's on Wexford Street, Dublin, won her critical acclaim, followers and within the following week she was playing her second show in the Enterprise Camden in London, which has also yielded a number of exciting prospects. This month proves to be another busy one for Shannon as she performs her debut single 'Million Miles' on The Saturday Night Show on 21st April. Shannon plays her biggest gig to date with her band on Saturday 5th May in the Sugar Club on Lower Leeson Street, Dublin. To promote this, she will be busking outside E2 music in Navan on Friday 20th April at 4pm. Tickets for her Sugar Club gig will also be available from E2 music.
