Casey Fitzgerald, two days after surgery in Frenchay Hospital in Bristol.

Dreams really do come true as Casey looks forward to first dance

There will be great excitement in Mullagh this evening (Wednesday), when brave little Casey Fitzgerald returns home from Bristol, where she has undergone life-changing surgery to help her walk. Six year-old Casey is now recovering from the surgery after her operation to "fix" her legs, which took place on 24th January, was successful. The Kells Parochial School student, who has a form of cerebral palsy, will be returning to a big welcome in Mullagh this evening, along with her parents, Tracey and Noel. The surgery was carried out to improve her balance and help her walk without the need for a frame or calipers, which she hated using. She is now having physiotherapy and has already stood on her own for a short period, despite it being very early in the recovery process.
