Monica Riordan...Navan resident missing since last week.

No new leads in search for missing Navan resident

Gardaí say there are no new leads on a Navan resident who has now been missing for over a week. Monica Riordan, who is orginally from Finglas in Dublin but who has a Navan address, where she lives with her partner, went missing on Tuesday morning of last week, 20th December. She disappeared after leaving a Dublin city-centre office, where she works for government agency Pobal on Holles Street, just off Merrion Square. A family member quoted in a national newspaper last week said the disappearance was "out of character" and Pobal itself has also issued an urgent appeal for help in finding Ms Riordan, whose family are "deeply upset". Ms Riordan reportedly attended work as normal on Tuesday 20th December and is thought to have left her office on Holles Street at 11am. Later that day, gardaí say her mobile phone was handed into them after it was found at around 5.30pm near the Grand Canal. CCTV cameras caught her movements through the south inner city after she left work. Gardai searched the canal on Friday 23rd December and stepped up their searches over the Christmas weekend. Ms Riordan is described as being of average height and of thin build with shoulder-length blonde hair. When last seen, she was wearing a long grey coat, dark jeans and grey or white runners.
