Olivia and Vincent Duff with their new mobile website.

Headfort goes mobile

The Headfort Arms in Kells has just launched its 'mobile site', embracing the rapid growth in mobile technology in Ireland. The new website allows customers book rooms from their mobile phones and will allow guests to make an online reservation within one hour of arrival, which cannot be done on any conventional website. Regular guests can input a rate code to avail of loyalty discounts on business. The hotel, which is run by the Duff family, has just completed a marketing mentoring programme with Fáilte Ireland highlighting the business's importance to tourism in the area. The marketing mission, led by Olivia Duff, resulted in the new website, which was completed by local Kells Company Flo Web Design, based in the Kells Business Park. Said Olivia: "We are so thrilled to have worked with another local company in producing a new, slick website which has resulted in a significant upsurge in enquiries and web traffic. The next logicial step was to produce a mobile strategy with a mobile site, so we are delighted to launch this for our mobile users." Although the Headfort in Kells is long associated with a local customer base, its target markets include international golfing and heritage tourism visitors as well as a strong base of midweek corporate business clients. The Headfort Arms Mobile site can be accessed by logging on a smart phone browser to the website www.headfortarms.ie which will prompt the user to download the Headfort Arms icon just like any application so that the customer can log in at any time with a simple tap of the finger. Olivia Duff was last week awarded with the accolade 'Sales and Marketing Professional of the Year' at the Meath Business and Tourism Awards held at Trim Castle Hotel.
