Questions remain on Darlington

Dear sir - In your recent article entitled 'Manager's response reassures cllrs on Darlington debacle' I was amazed to find that most of the 12 councillors were reassured with the response from the county manager. I, for one am not reassured that the very council executive management team that originally oversaw this debacle are still in place and that a cross-party group of councillors are willing to accept the failings of this council executive as a done deal. Let me remind you the High Court ruled against Meath County Council to the value of €4 million plus. For an already cash strapped council, where is this €4 million going to come from and who is going to pay for the Independent Review Body, suggested by the county manager? My question is simple, in light of the many recent fiascos within the council, when will one of our highly paid councillors, raise their head above the parapet and openly criticise what has been happening with the executive management of Meath County Council? Yours, AJ Brady, Navan.
