Letters received from Harnan and Callaghan

The on-going saga surrounding the resignations of Meath football selectors Liam Harnan and Barry Callaghan was raised at Monday night's special Co Committee meeting at Aras Tailteann. The matter was not on the agenda, but was raised at the end of the meeting that was scheduled to deal with exemptions sought by Curraha and the appointment of a referees' co-ordinator. It had been stated at the previous Co Committee meeting a fortnight ago by Dunderry delegate Tommy Nally and Moynalvey delegate Peter Collins that both Callaghan and Harnan would be prepared to attend a meeting or submit letters. Simonstown representative Gerry Fitzpatrick posed the question to Co Committee chairman Barney Allen. "Have you received any letters from the selectors," asked the Simonstown delegate. "Letters have been received, I haven't seen them yet, but they have been received," confirmed the chairman. "The management committee will read them, we will have to see what's in the letters first," added the chairman. The next Co Committee meeting will take place on Monday 12th September.
