Stars and Stripes for Elliott

Trainer Gordon Elliott is expanding his horizons this week as he attempts to win some races with Dirar. The USA is slightly further than his usual destination, Perth, and Dirar, which won the Ebor at York last year will race at Saratoga on Thursday with Barry Geraghty on board in New York Writers Club Chase. It is planned that Dirar will campaign Stateside for about two months and Joey Elliott will be with the horse during that time. The trainer headed to the USA on Monday and plans tokeep Dirar there until the end of October. Dirar was third in last month's Galway Hurdle.
