Double for Lynch at Roscommon

Training in the shadows of the world famous Kileen Castle seems to be a good omen for Dunsany trainer Andy Lynch who recorded his first double at Roscommon yesterday. Robbie Colgan partnered Ahorsecalledmolly to victory in a handicap chase and Tim Carroll was successful with Roley, also over the major obstacles. Lynch was the head man with Noel Meade for many years and was also a noted footballer with his local club Dunsany. Tony Martin's Underboardwalk won a maiden hurdle for Barry Geraghty following a promising run at Bellewstwon a few weeks ago behind London Bridge. Former Meath footballer and selector Barry Callaghan was also smiling at Roscommon last evening after his wife, Gillian, sent the well-supported Ongenstown Lad to win the three-mile hurdle with Davy Condon on board. Ongenstown Lad won previously at Sligo and Ffos Las Nina Carberry took the final race on the card when she won the bumper with Kick For Touch for trainer Charles O'Brien.
