Rogers beaten from the spot

Gary Rogers was beaten from the penalty spot tonight as St Pat's lost in Iceland to IBV in the Europa league first leg. IBV scored a penalty in the 50th minute and will now head to Dublin next week for the second leg at Richmond Park with a lead to defend. Bohermeen man Rogers was in good form throughout the game, but went the wrong way for the penalty which was well-taken. Rogers also produced superb saves to keep efforts by Denis Sytnik and Ugandan Tonny Mawejje out. Before the second leg next Thursday night, St Pat's have to play Shamrock Rovers at Tallaght on Sunday. IBV have no league commitments ahead of their trip to Dublin.
