Headfort golfer Pauline Walsh will face Seniors' Open Strokeplay champion Helen Jones in the semi-final of the Irish Senior Women's Close Championship at Adare Manor Golf Club. Walsh joins defending champion Sheena McElroy (Grange), Jones (Strabane) and Pat Doran (Donabate) in the semi finals. Walsh booked the fourth semi final berth after defeating Suzanne Corcoran (Portumna) on 17. After leading the qualifiers in the morning, McElroy saw off eight qualifier Marilyn Henderson (Royal Belfast) on the penultimate green. Second qualifier Jones ended the hopes of Catherine Reilly (The Heath) on 14. Doran progressed thanks with a final hole victory over Violet McBride (Belvoir Park).
