Bernard Flynn

Flynn's Croker Legends tour refixed

The GAA Museum at Croke Park has changed the date that former Meath footballer, Bernard Flynn will kick off the Legends Tour Summer Series of Croke Park Stadium, to 11am on Saturday 2nd July (change of date from Saturday 25th July). The date has been changed to avoid a clash with the Louth - Meath GAA All Ireland Championship fixture. As part of the tour, Bernard will focus on his successful GAA career with Meath including back-to-back All-Ireland success in 1987 and 1988, five Leinster medals, three National League Medals, a Centenary Cup Medal and two All Star awards. Playing for Meath, Bernard Flynn was part of a full-forward line which also included Colm O'Rourke and Brian Stafford, generally regarded as one of the best full forward lines of all time. As a result, this first Legends Tour of the 2011 series is likely to prove very popular, so early booking is advised. Bernard Flynn's Legends Tour will be followed throughout the summer by tours of Croke Park by other GAA legends, including, Martin Storey, Ollie Canning, Ray Silke, Brian Whelahan and Tony Hanahoe (full details TBC during W/c 20th June, 2011). The Legends Tour Series, which started in 2008, has been a huge success at the GAA Museum, with many GAA fans flocking to the stadium to get a unique 'behind-the-scenes' tour from their hurling and gaelic football heroes. These special tours provide fans with an unforgettable opportunity to hear memories and anecdotes from the players who have thrilled Croke Park crowds on so many occasions. All tours include a trip to the recently refurbished GAA Museum which is home to many exclusive exhibits, such as the original Sam Maguire and Liam McCarthy cups. Prices for the Legends Tours are as follows: Adult €15, Child €8.50, Student (Under 16) and Senior €10, Family €40. Booking is essential as places are limited.
