Knightsbridge Nursing Home staff members honoured at care awards

Residents and staff at Knightsbridge Nursing Home, Trim, were treated to a surprise visit from the High Nellie bicycles which visited Knightsbridge in advance of the Scurlogstown Olympiad, which took place on Sunday. The High Nellies were greeted with drinks and refreshments on arrival and then chatted to residents and staff, reminiscing and reflecting on times past. Knightsbridge also celebrated the achievement of two staff members at the recently held 2011 Barchester Care Awards with new director of nursing, Gillian Lynch. Activities co-ordinator at Knightsbridge Village, Jackie Kay, proudly flew the flag as she was one of just four finalists selected from over 300 entries in the category of Activities Co-ordinator of the Year. Laurentia Vaughan, head chef at Knightsbridge Nursing Home, scooped the Chef of Year Award, beating off stiff competition from other Barchester Homes.
