Moynalty group delivers on laughs

Moynalty Drama Group is presenting the hilarious two-act comedy, 'Cash on Delivery' by Michael Cooney, next week. The play showcases a busy, action-packed day in the life of Eric Swan, played by Terry Nevin. After losing his job and conning the social welfare system for years, using every trick in the book, unknownst to his angry wife Linda (Brona Lynch), he suddenly has a change of heart. As he tries to undo the wrongs he has done, along with his chancer uncle, George (Pat Smyth), and his unwilling pal, Norman (Felim Clarke), the trio get themselves into plenty of sticky situations along the way. With HSE inspectors, a social worker, a marriage counsellor and an undertaker thrown in for good measure, the satire takes many twists and turns during the day. With a funeral to arrange and a wedding to be attended, the fast-pace farce is just what is required to help forget about the doom and gloom. Other local stars of the show include Phelim Gargan, Patrick Daly and Mary Cassidy, along with newcomers Nik Pratt, Rose Burns and Mary McCabe.
