Trim Musical Society's 25th anniversary production
Trim Musical Society's all-singing, all-dancing comedy musical 'Crazy For You' opens on Tuesday 8th March at 8pm in Trim Town Hall and continues nightly until Sunday 13th March. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the society and its silver jubilee production promises to be as entertaining and enjoyable as ever. The cast of 45 is gearing up to tread the boards for this action-packed musical with Craig Regan assuming the leading role of 'Bobby Child', the son of a rich banking family who dreams of being on the stage. Despite the efforts of his mother and soon to be ex-fiancee, Bobby achieves his dream. Memorable Gershwin tunes 'I Can't Be Bothered Now', 'Biding My Time', 'I Got Rhythm', 'Naughty Baby', 'They Can't Take That Away From Me', and 'Someone To Watch Over Me' all feature in this high-energy musical comedy which includes mistaken identity, plot twists and great dancing numbers. This high energy musical has many high points. Craig Regan has excelled himself in his approach to a very challenging role and his focus and determination is sure to be one of the most unforgettable male roles yet seen on the Trim stage. An impressive performance is guaranteed from Louise Cassidy as Polly Baker. A terrific all-round performer, Louise takes on her part with ease and promises to be a star in the making. Other memorable roles are guaranteed from Frank O'Reilly, the saloon owner who is seduced by Jenny Seery. 'Crazy For You' is suitable for all ages and musical tastes. Trim Musical Society is encouraging all to come and celebrate its 25th year. The first show cost £15,000 to stage 25 years ago, while its last musical set the society back €50,000. 'Crazy for You' runs from Tuesday 8th March to Sunday 13th March in Trim Town Hall at 8pm nightly. Tickets are €15. Tuesday is family night with tickets priced at €10 for children and €15 for adults.
