Regina Doherty (Fine Gael)

Regina Doherty a full-time public representative and a member of Meath County Council. Prior to becoming a councillor, she worked in the private sector and was a director of the Horizon Technology Group, before leaving to establish her own company. She believes the skills which enabled her to be successful in business will help when dealing with the difficulties the country faces. She is chairperson of the Joint Policing Committee for Meath, and is a member of the boards of management of Ratoath College, Adult Education Meath VEC and Gaelscoil Rath Tó and is a member of the special education group of the National Parents' Council. She is founder and chairperson of Ratoath Meals-on-Wheels and helped establish Ratoath BMX club. She is married to Declan and has four children. Her chief concerns are job creation and reform to stimulate economic recovery. She says Meath has been overlooked by IDA Ireland and Enterprise Ireland and, if elected, will work to bring about an end to this neglect. She believes farming has been neglected also and has pledged to work tirelessly to promote the interests of the agri-food sector, with its almost limitless potential to stimulate growth and employment.
