Meade or Martin for the last

Two Meath-trained horses could fight out the finish of the final race on the card at Galway this evening. Noel Meade's French import, Pointilliste, and Tony Martin's well-regarded Salute Him look to have good chances. Emmet McNamara will partner Pointilliste (rated 110) which finished fifth behind Profound Beauty in a listed race at Leopardstown a fortnight ago on its first run for the Castletown handler. Johnny Murtagh will partner Salute Him which won at Bellewstown earlier this month and prior to that was fourth at Royal Ascot. The Round Tower Syndicate from Kells could have a good prospect in the recently-acquired Al Khawarezmi which made a promising debut at Fairyhouse for the new owners over seven furlongs. Today, Al Khawarezmi runs in the one-mile handicap. The Round Tower syndicate also own Six Of Hearts which may re-appear at Leopardstown next Thursday (seven furlongs) or in the Phoenix Sprint (six furlongs) at The Curragh on Sunday week. Trainer Gordon Elliott, currently leading the national hunt trainers' title race with 21 winners, has one runner today, Ballylanigan in a chase. Paul Carberry has the mount.
