Exciting pianist for Solstice

Classical pianist Cathal Breslin presents a programme of Chopin, Debussy, Rachmaninov, Brahms, Wilson and Liszt in his first solo recital at Solstice Arts Centre on Saturday 24th April. Breslin has been praised as one of the most exciting pianists of his generation. Born in Derry, a growing international career has taken him to critically acclaimed performances in Concert Halls throughout Europe, USA and Asia. In 2007, he was awarded the Bronze Medal at the prestigious Viotti International Piano Competition in Milan, Italy, where past prize-winners have included Daniel Barenboim and Claudio Abbado. With this prize, he became only the second Irish pianist in the last 20 years history to have won a World Federation International Music Competition Prize. Breslin has broadcast regularly for BBC Radio 3, RTE Ireland, RTVE Spain, and has performed on Japanese, Spanish and Irish Television. He was the only Irish pianist selected for solo piano recordings in the Mozart Project 2006 for the European Broadcasting Union, and his Mozart recordings were broadcast on National Radio Stations in over 30 countries throughout the world.
