Good week on the Lotto for locals

There were jubilant scenes in the National Lottery's offices on Monday as two Meath prizewinners collected cheques for €1 million and €500,000, respectively. A family from Meath collected a cheque for €1m after winning one of the two top prizes in the National Lottery's Easter Millionaire Raffle, while another local couple won €500,000 in the All or Nothing draw. The young family which scooped the €1m prize in the Millionaire's Raffle bought their winning ticket in Gillen's Londis on the Navan Road in Trim. They want to keep their win a private one. Their lucky ticket was drawn by Derek Mooney on the live draw on RTE on Easter Monday night. "We only found out we won last Tuesday morning, so it's been madness ever since. We've all been in a bit of a daze, to say the least. Plans for the win include building a conservatory, looking after the family and paying off the bills," said the wife. A couple from Meath also picked up a cheque for €500,000 after matching all 12 numbers to win the top prize in the All or Nothing draw on Sunday 4th April. "We only checked the ticket this morning. I thought we'd won €5,000. I can't believe it's actually half a million. I'm still in shock," said one of the winners. The regular All or Nothing players also wish to keep their win private. They bought their lucky ticket in the Topaz service station in Monaghan Town and have been playing the same numbers since the game began. Meanwhile, Susan Murphy from Barronstown, Skyrne, won €52,900 on the National Lottery's Winning Streak game show on RTE last Saturday night. Susan, who works for Trimfold Envelopes in Trim, bought her ticket in Tobin's Newsagents, Haggard Street, Trim. She is married to Damian and the couple have two children, Ellie (4) and James (2). Ten of Susan's female work colleagues gave her some scratch cards as a gift for her birthday, which was on 19th March. Her sister, Ann, lives in Inverness in Scotland and travelled over for the show with her seven month-old baby, Sam. Susan and Damian had been in discussions about building an extension to their kitchen and are planning to go ahead with that with their winnings.
