Navan comedian Harry McGarry has launched his own comedy club, 'NavanaLaugh', beginning in O'Dwyers of Johnstown at the weekend.

New comedy club 'NavanaLaugh'

A Navan-based comedian who hopes to follow in the footsteps of many of his fellow 'townies' is launching a new comedy club 'NavanaLaugh'. Harry McGarry is fairly new to the comedy scene, but has appeared at venues such as the Ha'penny bridge Inn, the International Bar and venues in Belfast, Cork and Waterford, and the Kells Comedy festival for the past two years. The new comedy club is starting this weekend at 9pm in O'Dwyer's Pub in Johnstown, Navan on Easter Saturday, 3rd April and McGarry is planning to make it a monthly event. The opening night will be headlined by last year's Comedy Dublin competition winner Gerry McBride from Monaghan, a regular on the Irish comedy circuit. MC for the night will be Cork native Finbarr Coveney who already has his own successful comedy club in Tramore in Co Waterford. There will also be three of Ireland's brightest talents Gordon Roachford, Mark Cahill and Damien Hickey all from Dublin, and McGarry will also perform his own set "And we will throw in free cocktail sausages just in case the masses get hungry!" he says.
