Garth Brooks tribute returns to Old Darnley

The Ultimate Garth Brooks Experience is returning to the Old Darnley Lodge Hotel in Athboy due to huge popular demand on Sunday, 27th December. The show which continues to thrill sold out audiences all over Ireland is fronted by Ballivor man Trevor Smith and returns to Athboy for the first time since July. Smith's backing band is 'The Fever' and has local musician Ken Gillick on lead guitar. Athboy man David Arkins is on guitar, Dan Daly from Navan is drummer, Conor Mulhall from Mullagh is on keyboards, Westmeath man Pete Mulkearns plays the fiddle and Mick McDonald from Dublin is on bass guitar. The show consists of all the hits of American country music legend Garth Brooks who rose to fame worldwide in the early 1990s with his own brand of country music which spawned such classic songs as 'If Tomorrow Never Comes', 'Friends In Low Places', 'The Dance', 'Unanswered Prayers', 'Shameless' and many more. Smith is delighted to bring his hit show back to Athboy and says fans can expect the usual great show with all of Brooks' favourite songs featured. "It's great to be back in Athboy, especially at this time of year and we hope all our supporters have a happy and peaceful Christmas. "The last time we played in the Old Darnley was on 4th July and it was a memorable night for all involved. We hope to recreate some of that magic again on Sunday," said the Ballivor man. Dublin singer Killian Foster is the support act on Sunday night. Doors open at 9pm on Sunday and tickets are available for €20 at the hotel reception.
