Weekly Soccer Forecast

Kentstown v Tyrrellstown: Kentstown have a fine tradition in this competition. Past triumphs won't mean a whole lot in this game, but with home advantage the Meath side can take a step further. Don't be surprised if it goes all the way to extra-time or even the dreaded shoot-out. Verdict - Kentstown. CHALLENGE CUP Torro Utd v Trim Celtic: This tie has already been called off a number of times. Trim Celtic go into the game on the back of a resounding 5-1 win over Clones Town last weekend. Torro have displayed some encouraging form of late. Will they be able to withstand the type of firepower Trim Celtic have in their armoury? Doubtful. Verdict - Trim Celtic. Trim Town v Navan Town: Navan Town showed little seasonal charity to Newtown last weekend when they fired five goals. They might not get five away to Trim Town although they should still win. Verdict - Navan Town. PREMIER Duleek v Clones Town: Don't mention the K word around Duleek. Stung by their defeat in the Cup Duleek will be anxious to get back to winning ways and they can do that here. Verdict - Duleek. DIVISION 1 Longwood v Skryne/Tara: Nothing is going right for Longwood these days, at least not on the soccer front. Skryne/Tara are chasing the leading pack. Verdict - Skryne/Tara. DIVISION 2 Electro Celtic v St Laurence's: Electro badly need a boost in the league going into the Christmas break. They can achieve at least a point here. Verdict - draw. OMP v BMC: Buoyed up by the brilliant victory over Leicester Celtic in the Leinster Junior Cup OMP will provide difficult opponents for a BMC outfit looking to make up for last weekend's lost to Kells/Blackwater. The evidence suggests one outcome. Verdict - draw. DIVISION 3A Johnstown v Abbey Celtic: Johnstown are going nicely thank you very much at the top end of the division while Abbey are busily engaged trying to pull away from the relegation zone. Verdict - Johnstown. DIVISION 3B Inny Wanderers v Fordrew: Fordrew have the edge on their opponents in the league standing and they can take this one. Verdict - Fordrew. Enfield v Knightsbrook: Both these teams seem to regard losing as a personal insult. Neither have experienced a setback in the league yet. Knightsbrook look the most likely to keep their record intact. Verdict - Knightsbrook. Oldcastle v Sheelin: Unlikely to be much between these two teams at the end of 90 minutes. Verdict - draw.
