Mee the best!

Trainer Gordon Elliott produced Roi Du Mee to win first time out at Gowran Park today. Owned by Gigginstown House Stud, the four-year-old made a winning debut in a maiden hurdle for Davy Russell. Roi Du Mee was in front from about halfway and kept on well from before last for a four-length victory. This was Elliott's 17th winner of the season and he was also on the mark at Wolverhampton Elliot when Dirar claimed the last race on the card. Dirar had been fancied to run a big race in the Cesarewitch at Newmarket last October, but this victory was a sixth racecourse success. Dirar won three races in a week earlier this year in England for Elliott.
