Meath receive solitary Allstar nomination

Although the Allstar nomination process has yet to be concluded the Meath Chronicle has received information which strongly speculates that only one Meath player, Joe Sheridan, has been shortlisted for the prestigious end-of-year awards. While Sheridan is deserving of a nomination it is an apparent sleight on the Royal county that the Seneschalstown man is the only player who was deemed good enough from Meath's run to the All-Ireland SFC semi-finals to make the short list that is alleged to include two players from the team Meath beat in the final round of qualifiers, Limerick. It is expected that players from Cork and Kerry will dominate the list, but Meath supporters can feel short-changed if others such as Chris O'Connor, Cormac McGuinness, Seamus Kenny and Nigel Crawford are not considered for a nomination along with Sheridan.
