Rebecca to Storm back to Solstice

Solstice Arts Centre in Navan has announced that Rebecca Storm will perform at the centre on Sunday 25th October next, with tickets on sale now. After studying music and drama, Storm formed her own band and toured England and Europe singing mainly folk and rock songs. At 23, she auditioned for her first musical show 'Blood Brothers" and although a little young to play Mrs Johnstone, the Liverpudlian Catholic mother of seven children, writer Willy Russell was so captivated by her voice, that he insisted wardrobe and make-up went to work to 'age" the young actress. Gaining rave reviews, Storm was catapulted into the world of musical theatre, playing some of the most demanding roles ever written for leading ladies: Eva Peron in 'Evita", Fantine in 'Les Misérables", Grizabella in 'Cats", Florence in 'Chess", Rose in 'Aspects of Love", Edith Piaf in 'Piaf", Joan of Arc in 'Jeanne" and more. Her recording career began in 1985 with a top twenty single 'Putting On The Show", quickly followed by 'Mr Love, the soundtrack from the David Puttnam film of the same name. In 2000 she released 'I Want To Know What Love Is" and in 2003 'Celtic "n" Broadway" was recorded with sixty musicians, including world renowned soloists and conducted by the legendary Harry Robinowitz. Off stage, Storm shares her home in Kildare with her partner Kenny Shearer, a musician, arranger, songwriter and producer.
