George misses out on 'best job'

Bettystown's George Karellas has been unsuccessful in his quest to take on 'the best job in the world' - caretaker at the Island Reef, promoted by Queensland Tourism. The Queensland prime minister has announced that the winner was Briton Ben Southall. Southall was chosen from more than 34,000 applicants after a selection process that culminated on Hamilton Island today before an excited crowd and media from around the world. Tomorrow morning, Southall will be offiically handed the keys to his new home - the gorgeous Blue Pearl villa overlooking the Coral Sea and base from which to explore Queensland's magnificent Islands of the Great Barrier Reef.
