Trim 'Walk Of Witness" draws crowds from across community

An Ecumenical Stations of the Resurrection 'Walk of Witness" was held in Trim on Good Friday in which approximately 250 people took part. Dean Robert Jones and Fr Mark Mohan met with a large number of people from across the community at St Patrick"s Church of Ireland Cathedral, Loman Street. Following a short introduction, the crowd processed through the town to St Patrick"s Catholic Church, Patrick Street, and were joined along the way by numerous people drawn by the procession. Three volunteers, Declan Carolan, Ben Nolan and Shane Mooney, carried a large cross at the head of the procession. Fr Mohan and Dean Jones stopped the procession at various points along the route for prayer and reflection. The 'Walk" took an hour and followed a route wwhich took it down Loman Street, over the new bridge, along Market Street and Castle Street before entering the grounds of St Patrick"s Church. Fr Mohan and Dean Jones were delighted with the response to their Lenten reflections held in Trim each Wednesday throughout Lent and said they were 'absolutely overwhelmed' by the response of people to the 'Walk of Witness" through the town. They were further encouraged by the very positive comments of those who had taken part. Dean Robert Jones said: 'It has been a delight and privilege to join with Fr Mark on this ecumenical venture of prayer and reflection for Lent and Easter and I very much look forward to our next endeavour.'
