Clozure performing in Navan schools

Ashbourne singer and musician Joe Petit and his fellow members of band Clozure have been receiving an electrifying response to their support for Eoin Quigg"s recent show at the Academy in Dublin, and released their debut single, 'Simple Thing", earlier this month. Currently riding high in the top five of the downloadmusic.ie charts, with an instrumental version of the track also sitting in the top 10, Clozure look like they have begun their rise to the top. They have been playing in schools around the country, including Navan"s Beaufort College last week and St Joseph"s Mercy Convent today, Wednesday 25th March. Along with Jo in Clozure are Andrew Rice from Dundalk, Paul Hughes from Wexford and Ryan Davis, originally from the British Midlands. They were formed late last year. They have built up a huge fan base through their bebo site www.bebo.com/clozuremusic, and have also been performing at charity events in the Academy in Abbey Street in Dublin. Last week, Clozure played to a packed crowd in London"s Trafalgar Square for a St Patrick"s Day concert featuring the cream of Ireland"s finest musicians such as The Waterboys, Hothouse Flowers and The Blizzards. Clozure will also be supporting dance supremo Basshunter on their Irish tour dates later this year. A musician born in Mauritius, Jo Petit has had an interest in music from the age of two. At the age of 17, he began working as a singer in some of the most prestigious hotels in Mauritius, and has sang for the Princes of Dubai and Monaco. Jo spent the following few years working hard and trying to raise enough money with the dream of someday travelling. With Mauritius being the holiday destination that it is, he got the chance to meet so many new people, which in turn is how he came to be in Ireland. He travelled to Ireland in May 2006 and hasn"t looked back since. His influences in music are Motown, Marvin Gaye, Luther Vandross and Stevie Wonder. Clozure have their first official gig in the Academy on 18th April. Their official site is at www.clozureofficial.com and they also have the video of their first single 'Simple Thing" on Youtube.
