Moylagh prepares for its 'wedding of century"

A fun mock wedding will take place in Moylagh Community Centre on Saturday 21st March in aid of the local national school, Scoil Mhuire, Moylagh. Since the announcement of this event, it has caused quite a stir in the local area, particularly since the identity of the bride and groom has become known. 'Willie Smallhorn", aka Oliver Gilsenan, and 'Anny Bloomer", aka Rosealeen Lang, will be wed in what has been dubbed locally as the wedding of the century. In what promises to be one of the best social events this year, the bride will arrive by transport box to the wedding venue (Moylagh Community Centre) at 8.30pm. The visiting priest for the day, Fr Dougal McGuire, aka Patrick Farrelly, Carnaross, will carry out the nuptials but with a cast of characters that would be more at home in a scene from 'Killinaskully", who knows what might happen on the night? Many questions are currently on the lips of the locals, like, will the bride make it to the altar? Will the groom freeze at the thoughts of giving up his many years of bachelorhood? What surprises has the best man up his sleeve? Will the visiting priest be able to keep law and order on the two wedding families? Will the groom"s past come back to haunt him? There has been unprecedented interest in the wedding and tickets are already almost sold out. To get tickets, contact any of the organising committee now, because when they are gone there will be no additional tickets printed due to space limitations. The doors open at 8pm and the bride will arrive at 8.30pm for the 8.45pm ceremony. Buffet food will be served from 9.30 to 10.30pm. There will be music by Noel Briody, followed by the going-away ceremony and raffle at 12.30am, followed by a disco until late. Tickets at €25 each includes wedding entertainment, food and bar extension. The remaining tickets are available from Colin Smith (086) 256 4372, Gerry Gibney (087) 951 9294, Alan Grall (087) 267 6498, Jerome Reilly (087) 837 5454 or Paddy Kearney (086) 813 6973.
