Nobber family electrified by €250,000 win

Members of a well-known Nobber family won the €250,000 first prize in last week"s North-East Pylon Pressure (NEPP) monster draw, which took place at Knightsbrook Hotel, Trim. The lucky winners of the quarter of a million euro were Aileen and Larry McEntee. The winning ticket was drawn in the Knightsbrook Hotel, by Marie Cusack, managing director of Cusack Homes Ltd. The seller of the lucky ticket was Dominic Horgan, also from Nobber. Second prize of €10,000 went to Paddy Duff, Kells. The third prize, worth €5,000, was won by Tony and Catherine McGowan, Batterstown. Additional prizes of €2,000 each were won by Dom Clarke, Kilmessan; Hugh Kelly, Moyrath; Tara Martin, Trim; Malachy Tighe, Drumree; Andrew Farrelly, Dunderry; Kathleen Ryan, Athboy, and and Michael Love, Rathmolyon. The chairman of NEPP, Francis Lally, said campaign volunteers had sold more than 7,000 tickets at €100 each. He said: 'Our supporters across the north-east have given our campaign a tremendous endorsement. In the space of 14 months, we have raised over €1,200,000 in voluntary contributions. The politicians need to start listening to the voice of the people on this issue. 'The outcome of the draw not only gives us encouragement, but also gives us a firm financial basis to press on with our campaign to ultimate success. I want to thank everyone who worked to make the draw such a success and to thank anyone who bought a ticket.'
