Fish specialist hooks award

Seafood specialist Nick"s Fish of Ashbourne has retained its membership of the highly-regarded BIM Seafood Circle programme. Now the sole business in County Meath to hold the coveted membership, the inclusion of Nick"s Fish recognises and rewards hospitality and retail businesses that consistently deliver the highest standards of seafood and service. Proprietor Nicholas Lynch said on retaining the award: 'We"ve always strived to provide our customers with top-quality seafood and friendly advice, and we are particularly conscious that consumers are looking for value for money. Ashbourne may not be a coastal town, but that doesn"t mean we can"t provide some of the best seafood in the country to our customers, and we are very happy that this has again been recognised by BIM.' BIM awarded 23 new memberships to establishments in 2009, bringing the total number of members to 155. The programme aims to assist the retail and food service sectors to achieve excellent standards in the provision of seafood and encourage the use of locally sourced, responsibly fished, quality seafood.
