Local election candidate"s posters

Dear sir - Can somebody please let me know if a new law has been passed allowing candidates for next year"s local elections to put up roadside posters up to six months before an election . Mr Ronan McKenna may be unaware that this littering practice is illegal and will result in hefty fines. As several of these posters have been dotted around Trim and the south Meath countryside the fines will be quite substantial, but if Minister Dempsey takes up a big job in Europe, it could be money well spent if Mr McKenna is being groomed to take over the minister"s Dail seat .
