Connell and orchestra for big Christmas concert in hometown

Nigel Connell and his Orchestra is one of the newest and most refreshing touring acts in the country at present. Having spent the last couple of years touring the world over as guest vocalist to such artists as Liam Lawton, Rebecca Storm and Mary Duff , performing in Carniege Hall, New York and St Patrick"s Cathedral in Chicago along the way, the Athboy man now embarks on his own solo career. Nigel has enjoyed recent chart success with the Jack and Jill Children"s Foundation Charity Single 'Keela Mae". This song was penned by Nigel and Dan Malone as a gift for a couple who lost their child tragically late in 2007. The moving words and gentle melody of the song has touched the hearts and minds of people nationwide. 'Keela Mae" is also featured as a track on Nigel"s soon to be released debut solo album. His show is a musical journey through the different genres of music which have shaped him into the artist he is today. Along with his own original material, Nigel will also be performing some classical pieces, songs from the musicals, some old Irish favourites, some more recent contemporary hits and also some old favourite Christmas songs. With the ability to subtly change between the musical styles with such ease, capturing the true passion and emotion of the music through a most powerful vocal performance. A special Christmas concert with Nigel Connell in The Old Darnley Hotel, Athboy on 21st December will feature special guests Aoife Miskelly, Kane O"Rourke and a big sound and lighting production which will help to create a fantastic atmosphere for this total musical experience which must be both seen and heard.
