Tommy and Hector to join forces for Comedy Festival

Nineteenth century Dublin park the Iveagh Gardens will play host to the Carlsberg Comedy Carnival this coming weekend, with a number of local comedians performing. Fresh from his exhausting and successful Vicar Street and national run in 'Bovinity", Tommy Tiernan will be joined by fellow Navanman Hector O hEochagain when they bring their i102-104 radio show to the live stage for divilment and craic. Apparently, it"s like having three free classes at school! They are on Saturday 26th, at 7.30pm, and Sunday 27th, at 3pm. Tommy"s cousin, Eleanor Tiernan, who has been playing support to her famous relation, performed her play 'Help" to rave reviews at last year"s Edinburgh Fringe festival, and returns there this year with her new show 'Irish American". She"s on in Dublin as MC with Maeve Higgins and Josie Long on Friday night. Duleek"s Joe Rooney, who plays Timmy Higgins in 'Kilnaskully", is on at 7pm on Sunday with Paddy Courtney and MC David McSavage. The Comedy Carnival features over 65 International and Irish acts, playing 50 shows over one unique carnival weekend. These will be performed in four fully-seated, purpose-built marquees, including the impressive and atmospheric Iveagh Theatre tent, the Comedy Factory, the intimate Shack and the Magic Mirrors Palace, a Spiegeltent, which is being shipped in from Belgium. It will showcase a diverse range of well known, alternative and up-and-coming talent, including Des Bishop, Louis CK, Lee Mack, Ardal O"Hanlon, the stars of 'Whose Line is it Anyway" with special guest Phill Jupitus, The Trachtenburg Family Slideshow Players, John Cooper Clarke, Jason Byrne, PJ Gallagher, Reggie Watts, David O" Doherty, Maeve Higgins, Reginald D Hunter, Adam Hills, Apres Match, Phil Nichol, John Bishop, Danny Bhoy and many more. It will also feature a lively array of performance artists, musicians, good food and refreshments in a vibrant, carnivalesque surrounding.
