Dunshaughlin murder trial continues
THE trial of Anton Mulder for the murder of his wife, Colleen Suzanne Mulder, at their Dunshaughlin home in December 2004 has been continuing at the Circuit Criminal Court in Dublin last week.
The 46-year-old South African native denies murdering his wife at Maelduin, Dunshaughlin, on 17th December 2004.
Last week, a co-worker of Mulder's at Kentucky Fried Chicken, Andries Loubser, told the court that Anton Mulder had told him how easy it would be to kill Mrs Mulder in this country. Witness said that the defendant had said his wife had run away with another man and that he would not let her take their six children.
The Mulders' daughter, who gave evidence via video link, said she was afraid of her father and often stayed at a friend's house if her mother was away. Her parents were often arguing and argued on the morning of her mother's death, she said.
The court also heard that Mulder sometimes barricaded himself into the room he shared with his daughters because his wife had threatened to have him shot, it was claimed.
Deputy State Pathologist, Dr Michael Cassidy, told the court that Colleen Mulder died from manual strangulation.
The case continues.
