MR K MURRAY, TRIM

WIDESPREAD sadness was occasioned by the sudden death of Mr Kevin Murray, Griffin Park, Trim at Our Lady's Hospital, Navan, recently.

Mr Murray was a native of Boardsmill and lived in Trim for 45 years. Deceased was well known and was a great supporter of hurling and football at county and club level.  He also had a love of horseracing, pitch and putt, bingo and ballroom dancing. Mr Murray was a man of strong faith and a member of the Pioneer Association.

He is survived by his wife Mary; sons Kevin, Martin, Declan and Benny; daughters-in-law; grandchildren; brothers; sisters; brothers- and sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews and a large circle of friends by whom he will be truly missed.

The funeral took place from St Patrick's Church, Trim to St Loman's Cemetery.

A Months Memory Mass will take place on Sunday 26th August at 9am in St Patrick's Church, Trim.

VERY REV P DILLON, PP, BALLINABRACKEY

THE death occurred on Monday night of Very Rev Fr Patrick Dillon, parish priest, Ballinabrackey, at Tullamore General Hospital. He was aged 69 years.

Fr Dillon was a native of Ballynacargy and was ordained at St Patrick's College, Maynooth, in 1963. As a newly ordained priest, he served for a number of years on the emigrant mission in England as well as in Kells and Oristown.

In 1974 he was appointed curate in St Mary's, Drogheda with special responsibility for the Mornington area. In 1986, Mornington became part of the new parish of Laytown/Mornington and he moved to Mornington where he built a new church and residence there in 1989. Fr Dillon was appointed PP, Kilcloon in September 1991 and PP, Ballinabrackey in September 1995.

He is survived by his sister, Sr Annunciata; brothers, Michael, Tom and Donal; sisters-in-law, Maureen and Margaret; nieces and nephews; grandnieces and grandnephew, relatives and many friends.

His remains will repose at the Parochial House, Ballinabrackey today (Wednesday) until 6.45pm, followed by removal to the Church of the Assumption at 7 pm.

The Funeral Mass will be tomorrow (Thursday) at 12 noon followed by burial in Church grounds.

MR R CLARKE, NAVAN

THERE was widespread sadness at the death on 8th June last of Mr Richard (Reggie) Clarke, peacefully at his residence in Parnell Park, Navan.

He was a member of the Clarke family of Watergate Street, and was an active member of the community, especially remembered for his involvement in the Old Navan Musical Society. Deceased was a popular man with a jovial and witty personality.

He is survived by his wife, Carmel; daughter Chanel; grandchildren, Niamh and Cathal; son-in-law, Niall O'Riordan; brother, Christy, Surrey; sisters May O'Connor and Bridie Miller, Navan, Rita Ryan, Carrickmacross; brother-in-law, sisters-in-law; nephews, nieces, and a large circle of friends.

The funeral took place from St Mary's Church, Navan, to St Mary's Cemetery.

MR P CAROLAN, KILMAINHAMWOOD

MR Peter Carolan, known as 'Snowball', of Lisnagrew, Kilmainhamwood, Kells, who has died age 71, was well-known in GAA and political circles. The retired fitter was a GAA supporter all his life and a member of Kilmainhamwood GFC for many years.

He was also a committee member of Kilmainhamwood Fine Gael branch, and counted former party leader and taoiseach John Bruton amongst his friends. Mr Bruton paid tribute to Mr Carolan on hearing of his death on Sunday, 5th August last. The two men had remained in contact up to the time of the deceased's passing.

Son of the late Philip and Agnes Carolan, he is survived by his brother, John; sisters Mary Gaynor, Betty Ormonde and Eileen Smith and other relatives. Mr Carolan's funeral took place from the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Kingscourt, to Kingscourt Cemetery.

MR D MURRAY, NAVAN

THE death occurred on 8th August last of Mr David Murray, Emmet Terrace, Navan.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; sister, Kathleen; brother, Peter; nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces, great-grandnephews and great-grandnieces, relatives and close friends.

The funeral took place from St Mary's Church, Navan, to St Mary's Cemetery.
