MRS M BYRNE, DUNDERRY
THE DEATH occurred on 13th July last at St Joseph's Hospital, Trim, of Mrs Mary Byrne Ballardin, Dunderry, Navan. Deceased was aged 85 and was well known and loved by all in Dunderry and surrounding areas.
Mrs Byrne (nee O'Brien) was predeceased by her husband Thomas, and is survived by daughter, Patricia; son, Francis; sisters, Margaret, Dymphna; brother, Jim; grandchildren, Annette, Noleen, Lorretto, Cillian and Aodhan; great grandchildren, Barry, Serena, Calvin, daughter-in-law, Brid; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
The funeral took place from Church of the Assumption, Dunderry, to the local cemetery.
MRS M THOMAS, NAVAN & USA
A MEMORIAL Mass will be held on Wednesday 29th August next for Mrs May Thomas, formerly Farrelly of St Patrick's Terrace, Navan, who died in Colarado, USA, in February.
Mrs Thomas was a daughter of the late James and Esther Farrelly of St Patrick's Terrace and passed away on 18th February. She is survived by her husband, Vivian; son Gareth and his wife Jennifer and family; sister, Madge Kelly, Beechmount Vale, Navan; brother-in-law, Stephen; niece Fiona, and nephew David, and other relatives and friends in both Navan and the United States. The Memorial Mass will be at 10 am on 29th August.
MRS M J KELLY, NAVAN
MRS Mary Jane Kelly, Connolly Avenue, Navan, who died on 26th July last, was a member of the Moore family of Navan. Aged 84, she passed away at Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown. Mrs Kelly was wife of the late Michael Joseph Kelly, who died in 1996.
Deceased is survived by her daughters, Mrs J Sweeney; Woodlands, Mrs A Bebbington, Reask Drive; sons Mr J Kelly, Beechdale Drive, Mr M Kelly, Connolly Avenue; in-laws, brothers, sisters, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchild.
The funeral took place from St Mary's Church to Old Athlumney Cemetery.
MRS M CARBERRY, NAVAN
THE death occurred on 28th July last of Mrs Monica Carberry, St Mary's Park, Navan, at Our Lady's Hospital, Navan.
Mrs Carberry (nee Halton) was predeceased by her husband, Jack, in 2000.
She is survived by her sons, Peter, Kilmessan, John, Follistown, Padraic, Athlumney; daughter Anne Barber, Bellinter; brothers, sisters, grandchildren and extended family.
The funeral took place from St Mary's Church, Navan, to St Mary's Cemetery.
A Months Mind Mass will take place on Tuesday 28th August at 10am, in St Mary's Church.
MR J KENNY, KILBERRY
WIDESPREAD sadness was occasioned by the death of Mr John Oliver Kenny (66) of Kilberry, Navan, peacefully at his residence, on 5th August last.
Mr Kenny was a well-known and popular resident of Kilberry, where he lived for over 40 years. He was formerly of Crufty and Laytown. Deceased had a keen interest in all sports and had a passion for vintage cars. He was a member of the local vintage car appreciation club, the Celtic Old Vehicle Owners Club (COVOC), for many years.
Mr Kenny is survived by his wife Mary (Mai), sons William, Sean, Ultan, Justin, Barry and Jamie; daughters Sandra and Maeve; son-in-law, Michael O'Connor; daughters-in-law, Noeleen, Geraldine, Alison and Lisa; brother, Brendan; sisters, Nancy, Bernadette, Dolores and Mary; sisters-in-law, Dympna and Stella; brothers-in-law, Tommy, Frankie and Aidan; grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours.
The funeral took place from St John the Baptist Church, Kilberry, to Kilberry Cemetery.
MR JAMES MCCABE, CANNISTOWN
WIDESPREAD regret was occasioned by the passing at Our Lady's Hospital, Navan, on 29th July last, of Mr James McCabe, Cannistown, Navan.
Deceased was aged 65 years and a native of Walterstown. He was a member of Navan Town Council's outdoor staff, and had also worked in Navan Carpets, and in recent years carried out a lot of gardening work around Cannistown.
Deceased had a great love of sports such as horseracing and Gaelic football and was also strong in his faith, and was a member of the Pioneer Association.
He is survived by his wife, Eilis; sons, Paul, Abbeygrove, Navan; Shane, Clusker Park, Navan; Darren and Adrian, Cannistown; daughters Jenny McGuinness, Balreask Village, Navan; Karen Dowdall, Athlumney Castle, Navan and Debbie, Cannistown; sons-in-law; daughters-in-law; grandchildren; brothers; sisters and brothers- and sisters-in-law.
The funeral took place from St Mary's Church, Navan, to Cannistown Cemetery.
MR J TOLAN, WILKINSTOWN
MR JOSEPH Tolan, Demailstown, Wilkinstown, who died on 17th July last, was well-known as a talented button accordion player the length and breadth of the country.
He passed away at Our Lady's Hospital, Navan. Mr Tolan was a member of the Emerald Ceili Band in the 1950s, as was the late Dermot O'Brien, who also passed away recently. In the early days of Radio Eireann, Mr Tolan featured on many of their musical entertainment programmes, and was also well-known for entertaining in local establishments.
He is survived by his wife, Philomena; sons Gabriel, Joseph, Paul and Martin; daughters Ann, Geraldine, Carol, Noeleen, Patricia, Linda and Tina; grandchildren; sons-in-law; daughters-in-law; and many relatives and friends.
His funeral took place from the Church of St John the Baptist, Kilberry, to the local cemetery.
MRS M O'SHEA, TRIM
TRIM lost one of its oldest residents lately with the death of Mrs Mary O'Shea, Navan Gate, in her 99th year.
A member of the Boylan family, she was a native of Slane and for may years, with her late husband, Patrick, owned and managed the firm of Fehily and Company and the Central Hotel in Market Street, Trim. She will be remembered as a kind and generous person, and a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Deceased is survived by her sons, Patrick, Sydney, Australia, Michael, Drogheda, James, Trim; and daughters Marie, Longwood and Geraldine, Athboy; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
Her funeral took place from St Patrick's Church, Trim, to St Loman's Cemetery.
