Cosmos clinch Premier crown

Navan Cosmos claimed the NEFL Premier title in fine style when they defeated Kentstown Rovers 2-0 at Kentstown today.

Derek Coogan's side created a host of scoring opportunities but they didn't go ahead until the 34th minute when Cillian Corcoran slotted home the opening goal of the game.

Vetern midfielder Alan Murphy put Cosmos in a stronger position when he fired home from distance early in the second-half.

The Navan side enjoyed the bulk of the possession and dominated for long stretches and could have added a few more goals to their account.

With the Kilmessan Shield already in the bag and now the title secured Comos remain in the hunt for the treble. They can achieve the coveted hat-trick of titles if they defeat Trim Celtic in the forthcoming final.
