Iranian brewing up a storm in Navan

He may be a long way from home, but Iranian snooker sensation Hossein Vafaei is whipping up a storm in Navan’s Royal with his fifth maximum 147 break since he arrived in Ireland.
Royal proprietor Chris Mazahery has offered the former world Amateur champion a base at his Navan club over the Diamond cinema to practice as awaits his UK visa to allow him play on the World Snooker Tour and Vafaei has impressed everyone at the club.
The Navan club is a popular practice venue for all of the leading professionals in Ireland including Ken Doherty, Fergal O’Brien, Patrick Wallace and others, but Vafaei has not looked out of place and has been beaten only twice since setting up home at The Royal.
The link below shows Vafaei making a maximum 147 break, while respotting the balls himself. His talent is undoubted and it is expected that once his visa is cleared he will make a major splash on the world snooker scene.
