Cian Caldwell competed for Ireland at the Iame karting world finals in Le Mans France

Cian qualified and competed for Ireland at the Iame karting world finals last weekend in Le Mans France. Cian Races for CRG Kart Ireland and UK. Cian had an excellent time and his results were superb.

 

453 drivers competed in total with 160 drivers (the best in the world) in Cian’s Class Junior X30. He had a very long week, free practice Saturday till Wednesday with qualifying Wednesday evening. Cian qualified 14th in his group which left him in a great position for his 7 heats.

 

Heat 1, 6th Overall

Heat 2, 8th overall dropped front bumper gave him a 10 sec penalty leaving him 24th

Heat 3, 15th

Heat 4, 12th

Heat 5, 12th

Heat 6, 8th

Heat 7, 12th

 

These results qualified Cian for the B final with a starting grid position of 6th, Cian race an excellent Final getting up to 3rd for the majority of the race only to be tapped from behind on the 2nd last lap which ran him wide off the track, Cian recovered to finish 17th Overall, an excellent result.

Cian qualified raced and finished top Irish Junior Driver. These results would leave him top a 40 driver at this event.

He drove like a lion through the entire event. Best Junior driver from Ireland he qualified to the B Final. He fought his way to 3rd then got knocked off and finished in 17th. A great fight from Cian.”
