The Gaelic Grounds in Drogheda are still unplayable after heavy snow fall on Saturday night

BREAKING Meath's NFL clash with Louth postponed, again

Following an early morning pitch inspection at the Gaelic Grounds in Drogheda today's rescheduled NFL Div 2 clash between Louth and Meath has been postponed.
The CCCC will confirm new arrangements tomorrow (Tuesday) with the game now most likely to go ahead next Sunday at the Louth venue, 2pm.
While much of the snow that fell throughout Saturday night has cleared there are still heavy coverings on many of the pitches in Leinster and the call to postpone the game was made early this morning to prevent unnecessary travel for players and supporters.
This weekend's postponements have added further havoc to the already much disrupted National Football League campaign and the plans for a 'club only' April appear to be scuppered with the necessity to push games back by a week.
With this week's postponed games likely to be rescheduled for next weekend and the necessity that all final round games be played at the same time it means that Meath's clash with Down will now likely go ahead on Sunday 1st April, with the league final, which won't concern the Royal County, likely to be played on Sunday 8th April.
