Ratoath players in a huddle following today's win over Dunboyne.

Ratoath defeat Dunboyne and avoid the Gaels

Brian Power and Joey Wallace fired home two goals to help Ratoath to a 2-13 to 1-11 victory over Dunboyne in the SFC at Pairc Tailteann today.

The prize for this victory was top spot in their group and a quarter-final clash with Wolfe Tones instead of holders Simonstown Gaels. Dunboyne will instead take on Simonstown.

Ratoath were against the strong wind and trailed 0-4 to 0-8 at the interval but they stepped on the gas in the second-half to seal the win with Stuart Lowndes getting a goal for Dunboyne.

In the other SFC quarter-final ties O'Mahonys will take on Na Fianna in the preliminary clash with the winners facing Summerhill while Moynalvey are paired with Gaeil Colmcille.

In the curtain-rasier at the Navan venue Trim defeated Ballinlough, 1-11 to 1-10, to ensure their place in the IFC quarter-finals.
