Gaeil Colmcille see off Rathkenny

Gaeil Colmcille players

Gaeil Colmcille warmed up for the knock-out stage of the SFC when they defeated Rathkenny 0-15 to 0-8 at Meath Hill this evening.

Lar Wall's side led 0-7 to 0-4 at the interval and the showed a far shaper cutting edge to go on and win this game with considerable comfort.

Seamus Mattiemoe showed the way for the winners with eight point, six from play, and in the process underlined his rich talent.

Rathkenny were already safe and this game brought the curtain down on their championship campaign with the impressive Caolach Halligan slotting over five points for them while Brian Meade tagged on the other three.

This was a rare chance for Meath Hill to stage a SFC game in their superb facilities.
