Moynalvey win to book place in quarter-finals

Donal Smith's injury held up the play during this afternoon's SFC clash between Moynalvey and Blackhall Gaels.

Moynalvey booked their place in the knockout stages of the SFC with an impressive 3-14 to 1-10 victory over Blackhall Gaels at Summerhill this afternoon.
The 10-point margin of victory is slightly flattering for Moynalvey, but there is no doubt they were the better side with two goals in the space of a minute early in the second-half giving them a 2-10 to 0-6 cushion.
After a slow start Blackhall dragged themselves back into contention to trail 0-6 to 0-9 at the break, but after the resumption they lost concentration at the back as Darren Brennan and David McLoughlin fired goals for Moynalvey.
Stephen Donoghue added a third goal in the 46th minute to firmly put the issue beyond doubt and confirm Moynalvey's place in the knockout stages with a game to spare.
