Primary Schools finals at Pairc Tailteann
The first series of games in the annual Meath Cumann na mBunscol finals took place at Pairc Táilteann in Navan today with five of the six games decided, but one going to a replay next Saturday at the same venue.
In the boys finals there were wins for Baconstown, Lismullen and Bohermeen while the girls produced two wins and draw.
Dunboyne and Cannistown will have to do it all over again next weekend, but Lismullen and Rathmore were successful.
All the games were played in a very sporting manner and there was lots of excitement to keep the supporters happy between 9.30am and 3.30pm.
The Meath Chronicle in conjunction with Generali Pan Europe sponsored the second annual Spirit of the Final awards and the winner from each game will be announced in this week's edition of the Meath Chronicle in a special eight-page pull-out on the games.

BOYS
Div 2 - Lismullen 3-6, Kentstown 2-5
Div 3 - Bohermeen 2-4, rathbeggan 1-5.
Div 4 - Baconstown 2-3, Castletown 1-5
GIRLS
Div 1 - Dunboyne 3-2, Cannistown 3-2.
Div 2 - Lismullen 2-3, Scoil Eanna, Navan 0-5.
Div 5 - Rathmore 4-2, Mount Hanover 1-3.
With a replay scheduled next week, the games may start at 9.30 but this has to be confirmed.
The second day will feature four finals next Wednesday evening in Skryne and then it's back to Navan on Saturday. This is the first year that three days will be required to complete the hugely popular series with the success down to hard work and planning by teachers across the county who are doing this outside of their normal school hours.
