14man kildalkey advance to shc final

Kildalkey survived the first-half dismissal of centre-back Sean Corrigan to book their place in the SHC final with a rousing 1-21 to 1-13 victory over Trimn at Pairc Tailteann this afternoon.
Kildalkey were the dominant force early on, but Alan Douglas’s fortunate goal kept Trim in contention and when Corrigan saw red for an off-the-ball incident in the 28th minute it threatened to derail Kildalkey. However Daire Lahart’s side regroup and led by 0-11 to 1-5 at half-time.
They pulled further clear after the resumption with Paddy Conneely in fine form, but Trim rallied again and with 11 minutes remaining they closed the gap to 1-11 to 0-16.
Then came Derek Doran’s decisive goal in the 51st minute and with the wind klnocked out of Trim’s sails it was Kildalkey who finished strong again with the last four points of the game to seal their place in the final.
Ratoath were also celebrating on Sunday as they clinched the Div 2 HC crown with a 0-15 to 0-11 win over Kiltale.
