Sam The Whippet..great on the ground, great over fences

WATCH: The video behind this great shot of Sam the whippet clearing fences

Never work with children or animals goes the old stage adage but Sam the Whippet proved a real professional when he stole the show at the launch of the Tattersalls International Event and Country Fair which takes place this June Bank Holiday weekend (May 31st to June 3rd)

There was never any danger of award-winning photographer Morgan Treacy not getting a great shot but it was all about timing and one dog's willingness to perform. Tatts Manager Joanne Quirke was on camera, Jennifer Byrne on her lovely grey Master Peace cleared the fence after Gary Carroll's impromptu 'jump jockey'  leap along with Brian Purcell were on hand to help make the magic happen. (Though we can't quite figure out what happened to Gary after he cleared the fence.)

"Sam was great", said Brian afterwards. "We got the shot Morgan wanted after only a few goes, the first time he tried it Sam went around the fence, but after that he proved to be a natural showjumper."

The Tattersalls International Event 2018 promises to be the biggest and best ever with 368 entries from 15 countries and the no.1 and 3 riders in the World coming.
